NESYFC is a "local centre" of British Youth for Christ, which is in turn affiliated to YFC International. We are an independent Scottish registered charity (no SC018031), operating under a charter agreement with BYFC which is renewed every three years. This arrangement allows us to tailor our work to be relevant to the young people of the area while still having access to the resources of a national organisation. Our work is almost completely performed by volunteers working in their spare time. It is managed by a team of ministry co-ordinators called the Executive Committee (Exec) which also includes our charity trustees. The work is overseen by mature Christians who sit on the Council of Reference, whose job is to bring accountability and credibility to the organisation. As an non-denominational Christian body, we are structured to have representatives of multiple denominations and backgrounds on the Council of Reference, giving insight and wisdom to the Executive Commitee. All our volunteers and staff subscribe to the British YFC Statement of Faith. Click on a name to find out more about the person.
