The Leira Trust in conjunction with Hilton Parish Church of Scotland seeks to appoint a Full Time Youth Worker
Hilton Church of Scotland is a busy, exciting and innovative evangelical parish church in a residential area of Inverness. Youth work has featured prominently in the church for the past decade. We wish to appoint a new full time employee to continue and develop this work. The post will initially be a fixed four-year contract, but it may be extended if the right person is found.
Working with other church leaders and volunteers, with staff and pupils at local primary and secondary schools, and with other youth organisations within the area, the successful appointee will be responsible for encouraging a commitment amongst young people to Jesus Christ, supporting them in their walk with God and enabling them to reach out to others. Whilst much of this has already been established over recent years, the appointee will be expected to show initiative in further developing this work in the church and community.
The appointee will be subject to regular review by a supportive management team. The salary will be from £18000 gross, depending on experience.
