Volunteering

You do not have to be young to reach young people, you just have to be a person! We currently need people in a huge range of roles; helping with games at Breathe, technical support, behind the scenes admin and organisation, stewarding, detached work and most certainly praying. Volunteers also make up the Council of Reference, the Executive Committee, and run all the different ministries of NESYFC. If you or someone you know are willing to give some of your time (even as little as a couple of hours a month) to either NESYFC's activities or to young people in your own church please contact our office, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Our volunteers are from varied backgrounds and of all ages from 16 upwards and some of our helpers are under 16 years old.

All NESYFC volunteers are offered training. This includes the basic essentials such as child protection training and more specific training for their role. In addition to NESYFC training and support, all volunteers are encouraged to join in Christian fellowship and attend youth leaders' training events such as Deep Impact, which will often help subsidise.

Take a gap year

Nationally YFC offers a wide range of gap year opportunities for young people seeking to serve God. They don't even have to a year long!

Are you aged 17-30 and interested in taking a year out to God's work? Do you have a passion for sharing the Good News with young people and a passion for music, dance, football, basketball, skating or something else? Are you a church looking for gap year volunteers to help with your youth mission? Please contact us or visit www.yfcone.co.uk.

Pray!

Please pray for our ministry; that God will guide us to do the things he needs done and that we have the necessary people and resources. You can find specific points for prayer on our prayer pages, by clicking on "Prayer" above. You can also sign up to our mailing list by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we'll send you some points for prayer each month.

Financial Help

Many people find it hard to believe that we currently operate on a mostly voluntary basis, with a single full-time member of staff. Imagine how many more young people we could reach with God's Good News if we could have more people working on it full time! We are currently seeking to raise funds to employ people dedicated to the ministry of young people in the North East. Please consider joining our ministry by becoming a regular financial supporter of NESYFC; even as little as five pounds a month will make a difference! Please also approach friends and businesses for help in this area, perhaps your church might like to consider supporting us as part of their local mission work; we are happy to come and speak to groups about what we do. You can get a standing order form from here - print it out and send it back today to start helping reach young people with the Good News.

One-off donations are also welcome - they can be used to supplement the range of equipment and resources we are able to provide. You can send a donation securely online by clicking on the button below. Alternatively you can post a cheque payable to NESYFC to the address at the foot of this page or contact us if you prefer to contribute in another way. If you're a UK taxpayer and want to make a one-off gift, please print off the standing order form above and complete the Gift Aid section so we can reclaim the tax paid on your gift.
